2019 was our biggest year to date.

We helped more people, we fitted more hearing aids, and we answered more phone calls.

But at our recent end-of-year meeting when we reviewed all the key numbers, it made us realize just how much of an impact our work was having on our community.

So, here’s what our 2019 looked like in numbers.


The number of hearing aids that were eaten by a family pet during 2019. And if you’re wondering, 11 were eaten by dogs and one was eaten by a cat.

But if that sounds high, then you’ll be glad to know that it’s 64% less than the previous year, as in 2018, a huge 31 hearing aids were gobbled up by our furry friends.


The number of hearing aids that were donated by our amazing patients that went on to be reconditioned and donated to those in need within our community at no expense to them or their family.

One of our favorite parts of the work that we do.


During 2019, only 92 hearing aids were lost or damaged beyond repair – I think that might be a new record!


The number of hearing aids that had to be sent back to the manufacturer for specialty repair through our “Managed Warranty” program.

Although all patients were quickly fitted with an alternative hearing aid while their devices were being fixed, we had a breadth of different repairs required from water-damaged hearing aids through to grandchildren using them as toys.


The number of hearing aids fitted during 2019, changing the lives of 1,100 people and their families.

This might just be our favorite number.


The number of hearing tests that we carried out during 2019.

To dive deeper into the numbers, that also means that 10,444 feet entered our sound booths – crazy!

But it also highlights the number of people that walked away with a hearing loss that did not take a step towards hearing aids.


This is the number of times that our phone rang.

“Ring, Ring.”



This is 1,729 for 2018, and it’s the number of appointments that we had.

That’s a lot of people that are work impacted, and it will have also touched countless loved ones, family members, and colleagues around them.

It makes us so proud of our involvement in the community.


The biggest number on the board.

What is it? The number of cups of coffee our audiologists drank? No.

It’s the number of hearing aid batteries dispensed during 2019 to our awesome patients.

A number that the introduction of rechargeable hearing aids should reduce (but we’ll see how 2020 progresses).

Our 2020 Mission

With 2020 already well underway and a busy January coming to an end, we have already helped more patients than we did this time last year.

It’s why we’re aiming for 2020 to be an even bigger year, making more of an impact to tens of thousands of lives.

Dr. Kalyn Bradford Au.D.

Dr. Kalyn Bradford is the director of hearing aid services here at Physician's Hearing Care. She completed her externship with Physician's Hearing Care in 2013 and subsequently joined the practice in 2014 after graduating with her doctoral degree in audiology from Louisiana Tech University. She joined PHC as a clinical audiologist, where she performed comprehensive audiological exams and specialized in helping patients to hear better using the latest hearing aid technology available. She has carried that experience into her current role as director of hearing aid services, where she does an excellent job managing the audiologists to ensure that all patients are treated with the best hearing care possible.
